March 12 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's electronic communications companies have invested 250 million euro ($281.8 million) in the development of their networks in the country during 2016-2018, the national telecommunications regulator, EKIP, said.
As a result of the investments, the number of broadband Internet users has risen 65.77% since 2014 and totalled 157,776 at the end of 2018, EKIP said in a statement last week.
In 2013-2018, the price of fixed-to-mobile calls fell 58.31% on average, the prices of international calls on the fixed network dropped by 45.93%, and the prices of ADSL Flat packages decreased 47.78%, EKIP said.
Montenegro, with a population of around 680,000, has three mobile operators - Telenor, Crnogorski Telekom and M:tel. Telenor had a 34.02% share of the overall number of subscribers at the end of January, followed by M:tel with 33.06% and Crnogorski Telekom with 32.92%.
