March 21 (SeeNews) - The ratio of non-performing loans (NPLs) to total loans in Montenegro's banking system was 5.04% at the end of February, the central bank said.
The ratio of loans being in default for more than 90 days was 2.91% at the end of February, the Central Bank of Montenegro said in a statement on Wednesday.
The NPL ratio does not take into account the loan portfolio of insolvent Atlas Banka [MNG:ATBA], the central bank said.
In December, the central bank placed Atlas Banka and Invest Banka [MNG:IBMN] under its temporary administration due to their poor financial condition, after audit results showed that the capital of the two lenders did not meet the minimum risk requirements.
At the end of 2018, Montenegro's NPL ratio stood at 6.91%.
