PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 21 (SeeNews) – The Montenegrin government said its privatisation council has approved a list of 11 state-owned companies that should be sold through public tenders this year in a bid to increase their competitiveness and attract foreign investors.
Public tenders will be called for publisher Pobjeda, railway cargo operator Montecargo, Montenegro Airlines, the cargo unit of port operator Luka Bar, Kontejnerski Terminal i Generalni Tereti, railway company Zeljeznicka Infrastruktura, shipyard Jadransko Brodogradiliste, hotel operators Budvanska Rivijera and Ulcinjska Rivijera as well as for Institut za Crnu Metalurgiju, dairy company Zora and electrode maker Piva, the government said in a statement on Monday.

The privatisation of companies on the stock exchange and the sale of state-owned assets at public auctions will continue this year with the denationalisation process due to start in the country's utility sector in line with the strategy for its restructuring, the statement said.
