June 22 (SeeNews) - The average gross salary in Moldova, one of Europe's poorest nations, rose by a real 0.2% on the year to 4,909.6 lei ($249 /219 euro) in April, following an annual decline of 1.3% in March, statistics office data showed on Wednesday.
In nominal terms, the average gross wage in Moldova was 8.5% higher on the year in April, the office said in a statement.
The average gross salary in the public sector was 4,142.4 lei in April, up 6.2% on the year in nominal terms.
In the private sector, the gross wage was 5,231.6 lei in April, up by a nominal 9.3% on the year.

In 2015, the average monthly gross salary in Moldova grew by a real 0.7% on the year to 4,610.9 lei.
