December 4 (SeeNews) - Moldova's unemployment rate rose to 4% in the third quarter of 2019 from 3.5% in the prior-year period, the country's statistical bureau said on Wednesday.
In the second quarter of the year, unemployment rate was 4.5%.
The number of unemployed in the country of 3.5 million people was 37,800 at the end of September, the statistical bureau said in a statement.
Moldova's workforce rose to 909,800 million people in the third quarter, from 901,100 in the previous quarter.
Unemployment among men in Moldova was 4.1% versus 3.9% among women. The jobless rate was 4.6% in urban areas and 3.4% in rural areas.
