November 7 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit increased by 22.2% year-on-year to $1.78 billion (1.54 billion euro) in the first nine months of 2017, the country's statistical bureau, BNS, said on Tuesday.
Moldova's exports rose 15.3% on the year to $1.65 billion in the January-September period, while imports totalled $3.43 billion, up 18.8%.
In September alone, Moldova's exports rose 15.8% on the year to $224.1 million, whereas imports increased 19.1% to $430.8 million.
Moldova's trade deficit decreased 2.2% to $1.97 billion last year.
