October 15 (SeeNews) - Moldova's trade deficit widened by 2% on the year to $1.787 billion (1.623 billion euro) in the first eight months of the year, the country's statistics bureau said on Tuesday.
Moldova's exports rose 2%, while imports increased by 1.8% through August, the statistics office said in a statement.
In August, exports fell by 5.8% on the year to $206 million, while imports fell by an annual 3.4% to $464.4 million.
Moldova's trade deficit widened by 27.1% on the year to $3.057 billion in 2018.
