July 26 (SeeNews) - Moldovan airline HiSky said on Wednesday that it will launch from September a direct service connecting Romania's capital Bucharest to Moldova's Chisinau.
HiSky will operate the round flights from Bucharest to Chisinau three times per week - on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, it said in a press release.
The flight duration will be 50 minutes.
"HiSky is a project born in Chisinau, but Bucharest quickly became the most important of our hubs. In these circumstances, we saw the introduction of a regular flight between Bucharest and Chisinau as a moral obligation we have, as a company that has gained the trust of passengers from both sides of the Prut river," said Iulian Scorpan, CEO of HiSky.
With the addition of the Bucharest-Chisinau route, the airline reaches a total of 25 destinations operated with regular flights, from Romania and Moldova.
HiSky currently operates a fleet of eight Airbus A320 aircraft, averaging an age of seven years. HiSky runs regular service from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Baia Mare, Iasi and Chisinau to domestic and international destinations.
