April 8 (SeeNews) - Moldova's final electricity consumption grew by 3.4% to 3.553 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) worth 5.57 billion lei ($315 million/290 million euro) in 2014, data of the country's energy regulator, ANRE, indicated on Wednesday.
In the fourth quarter alone, final electricity consumption advanced by 2.1% on the year to some 928.2 million kWh, ANRE said in a statement posted on its website.
Power distributor RED Union Fenosa had the biggest market share, as consumption in its area reached 2.63 billion kWh last year. The other two distributors, RED-Nord and RED-Nord-Vest, delivered 613.7 million kWh and 313.5 million kWh, respectively.
The electricity purchased by the three power distributors rose by 4.2% to 4.03 billion kWh, including imports of 3.27 billion kWh. Domestic producers delivered 767.9 million kWh, up 5.2% on the year.
The average payment ratio was 99.6% in 2014, ANRE said.
