November 22 (SeeNews) - Moldova's construction output rose by an annual 7.6% in the first nine months of 2021, the country's statistical office, BNS, said on Monday.
The value of all construction works performed under contract during January-September 2021 reached 9.5 billion lei ($536 million/475 million euro), BNS said in a press release.
New construction works constituted 54.4% of the total volume of works executed in January-September 2021 amounting to 5.161 billion lei. New construction works volume rose by an annual 21% in the first nine months.
During January-September 2021, capital repair works rose by an annual 4.1%, while maintenance works decreased by 13.8% on the year.
The volume of works performed on residential buildings during January-September increased by 21%, while works performed on engineering constructions were flat on the year. Works non-residential buildings rose by an annual by 7.5% in the first nine months of 2021.
Moldova's construction output rose by an annual 3.7% in 2020.
