May 19 (SeeNews) - Moldova's construction output fell by an annual 11% in the first quarter of 2023, the country's statistical office, BNS, said on Friday.
The volume of new construction works decreased by 26% on the year in the first three months of 2023, BNS said in a press release.
Other construction works fell by an annual 10% in January-March, while capital repair works jumped by an annual 36%. Maintenance works inched up by 0.5% on the year.
The volume of works performed on residential buildings shrank by 34% in the first quarter of 2023, while works on non-residential buildings fell by an annual 5.1%. Conversely, works performed on engineering constructions rose 13% on the year.
Moldova's construction output fell by an annual 14% in 2022 after edging down by 0.3% in 2021.
