March 3 (SeeNews) - Moldova's water utility company Apa-Canal Chisinau has opened a tender for the rehabilitation of the sewer network in the city, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The tender is for the replacement of existing urban sewer networks and branch pipelines in the central part of Chisinau municipality, generally in the size range of between 110 mm to 500 mm with an estimated total length of about 7 km.
To pay for the works, Apa-Canal Chisinau intends to use part of the proceeds of a 59 million euro ($62.1 million) loan from the EBRD, a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) and a grant from the EU’s Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF) granted in March 2015, the EBRD said in a procurement notice posted on its website.
Works are expected to be completed within 540 days, followed by a defect liability period of one year.
Tendering for contracts that are to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the EBRD is open to firms from any country.
The closing date of the tendering process is May 16, 2017.
