March 21 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits with Moldovan banks rose 12% on the year in February, reaching 54.39 billion lei ($2.76 billion/2.56 billion euro), the central bank, BNM, said on Tuesday.
This compared to a 9.5% annual gain in the value of deposits recorded in January.
Leu deposits rose by 25.4% year-on-year to 30.07 billion lei in February, at the same annual rate of increase as in the previous month, BNM said.
Foreign currency deposits dropped 1.1% to 24.31 billion lei in February, following a 5% decline in January.
