February 21 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits with Moldovan banks rose 9.5% on the year in January, reaching 54.3 billion lei ($2.7 billion/2.5 billion euro), the central bank, BNM, said on Tuesday.
This compared to a 9.8% annual gain in the value of deposits recorded in December
Leu deposits rose by 25.4% year-on-year to 29.79 billion lei in January, compared to a 22.8% annual rate of increase in the previous month, BNM said.
Foreign currency deposits dropped 5% to 24.51 billion lei in January, following a 2.6% decline in December.
