June 21 (SeeNews) - The value of deposits with Moldovan banks rose by 6.6% on the year in May, reaching 53.8 billion lei ($2.94 billion/2.64 billion euro), the central bank, BNM, said on Wednesday.
In April, deposits increased by 9.9% year-on-year.
Leu deposits rose by 16.7% year-on-year to 30.4 billion lei in May, slowing down from 19.5% growth in April, BNM said.
Foreign currency deposits dropped by 4.1% to 23.39 billion lei in May, following a 0.2% decline in April.
