November 16 (SeeNews) - Tourist arrivals in Moldova through September rose by 14.6% on the year to 52,321, with visitors from neighbouring Romania and Ukraine and from Russia topping the list, Moldova's statistics bureau said on Friday.
The number of overnight stays grew by 9.9% to 149,800 in the first nine months through September, the bureau said in a statement.
It added that 21.1% of the tourists came from neighbouring Romania and 10.9% from Ukraine. More than 9.0% of tourists came from Russia. Turkey and the Italy followed with a 7.8% and 6.8% share of tourist arrivals through September, respectively.
