November 24 (SeeNews) - Moldova's final electricity consumption grew by 3.9% to 2.625 billion kilowatt hours (kWh) worth 4.1 billion lei ($272 million/220 million euro) in the first nine months of the year, data of the country's energy regulator, ANRE, indicated on Monday.
In the fourth quarter alone, final electricity consumption advanced by 5.2% on the year to some 833.1 million kWh, ANRE said in a statement posted on its website.
Power distributor RED Union Fenosa had the biggest market share, as consumption in its area reached 1.95 billion kWh through September. The other two distributors, RED-Nord and RED-Nord-Vest, delivered 449.1 million kWh and 230.5 million kWh, respectively.
The electricity purchased by the three power distributors rose by 1.5% to 2.91 billion kWh, including imports of 2.41 billion kWh. Domestic producers delivered 495.3 million kWh in the nine months, down 1.9% on the year.
The average payment ratio was 99.7% in the nine months through September, ANRE said.
