December 29 (SeeNews) - Moldova's railway operator Calea Ferata din Moldova (CFM) has opened a tender for the supply of 12 to 15 locomotives and for the rehabilitation of maintenance facilities, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Thursday.
This contract is part of CFM's restructuring and modernisation programme, the bank said in a procurement notice posted on its website.
For this project CFM also received a parallel loan provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and by the European Unions Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF), the EBRD added.
Procurement will be carried out in a two-stage procedure. During the first stage, prospective bidders will be submitting outline technical proposals, with qualified bidders invited to submit more detailed proposals in the second stage.
The EBRD is managing the tendering process through its Customer E-Procurement Portal.
