October 18 (SeeNews) - Carpet maker Moldabela, a Moldovan-Belgian joint venture, has invested 215 million lei ($18.8 million/13.2 million euro) in the development of its production since its launch in 2003, the company said on Thursday.
Moldabela has invested more than 44 million lei so far this year, the company's financial director Ala Protec told SeeNews.
She added that the company's staff grew from 400 in 2003 to 1,000 this year.
Moldabela was established in 2003 as a partnership between Moldovan carpet maker Covoare Ungheni and Belgian carpet producer Unicorn Group. Moldabela's annual output stands at six million lei.
The company operates within Moldova's largest free economic zone Ungheni-Business in western Moldova.
