December 20 (SeeNews) - Moldova's government said on Wednesday that the country's first virtual IT park will be launched on January 1, hopefully attracting over 400 companies in its first ten years of operations.
The Moldova IT park aims is to create an organisational platform with a set of innovative mechanisms and facilities to boost the growth of the information technology industry, create new jobs and attract local and foreign investment, the government said in a press release.
The the park seeks to capitalise on the growth opportunities of the IT industry by implementing a predictable and motivating regulatory framework by facilitating the tax and business administration system, it added.
In the future physical infrastructure for the IT park may be created.
In the first year of activity the part is expected to attract 31 companies as residents.
The park's administrator will be appointed by the government for a period of five years. The park's administration will operate on principles of self-financing.
