SOFIA (Bulgaria), July 12 (SeeNews) – Moldova ranks lowest in terms of protection of property rights among countries from Southeast Europe (SEE), a recent global study shows.
Moldova is placed 124th among the 127 countries included in the ranking, according to data from the 2017 edition of the International Property Rights Index published by the Property Rights Alliance (PRA).
The International Property Rights Index is built up from 10 factors gathered under three components – Legal and Political Environment, Physical Property Rights and Intellectual Property Rights. Each of the three components is graded on a scale of 0 to 10, where 10 is the highest achievable result.
The International Property Rights Index represents the average value of the three categories.
Moldova achieved a result of 3.1781 points, with the country performing worst in the Intellectual Property Rights, where it is granted a score of 2.6622 points.
Among the countries from the SEE region, Slovenia ranks highest, at 47th place. The country achieved a score of 5.9936 points.
