November 9 (SeeNews) - Moldova's retail sales in the first eight months of 2007 rose by a real 11.7% on the year to 10.3 billion lei ($912.6 million/621.7 million euro), the country's economy ministry said on Friday.
Non-food products had a 67.2% share in total sales, the ministry said in a statement.
Private companies accounted for 70% of all retail sales. The private companeis' sales through August grew by 13.4% on the year to 7.2 billion lei. Foreign-owned companies increased their sales by 11.6%.
