January 23 (SeeNews) - Bosnia-based silicon metal producer Metalleghe Silicon, part of Italian metal producer Metalleghe Group, will shut down operations at its factory in Jajce on January 23, local media reported.
High electricity prices have affected the work of the factory, making it non-competitive on the European market, news provider Faktor reported last week, citing director Janja Rudic as saying.
The factory employs 160 staff, according to the report.
Metalleghe Group did not reply to a SeeNews e-mail seeking details of the plan by the time this story was published.
The Metalleghe Group has operated in Bosnia since 2004.
