February 22 (SeeNews) - Cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] led the blue-chip gainers' list on the Belgrade bourse on Wednesday, as share indices rose, stock exchange data showed.
Metalac won 3.59% on Wednesday and closed at 1,761 dinars. The trade in Metalac shares generated a turnover of 1.1 million dinars, the third largest among the blue-chip index members, as 622 shares changed hands in five transactions.
Civil engineering company Energoprojekt [BEL:ENHL] generated a share turnover of 4.2 million euro, the highest one among the blue chips on Wednesday, as 3,267 of its shares changed hands in 26 transactions. The company's share price added 1.58% and closed at 1,283 dinars.
Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] was the second most traded company among the blue chips on Wednesday after Energoprojekt. A total of 2,468 of its shares changed hands in 103 deals, generating a turnover of 1.8 million dinars.
Construction company Jedinstvo [BEL:JSV] paced the blue-chip decliners, as it lost 1.27% and closed at 4,048 dinars on Wednesday. The trade in Jedinstvo stock generated a turnover of 348,086 dinars as 86 of its shares changed hands in ten transactions.
Lender Jubmes banka [BEL:JMBN], trading on the Open Market segment of the Belgrade bourse and not a member of the BELEX15 blue-chip index, generated more than two-thirds of the share turnover on Wednesday. A total of 13,806 Jubmes banka shares changed hands in three deals, generating a turnover of 59.4 million dinars. The lender won 4.29% and closed at 4,300 dinars.
BELEX15, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, won 0.32% to 714.28 points. On Tuesday, the index added 0.03% to 712.01.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, rose 0.62% and closed Wednesday's session at 1,560.82 after edging down 0.01% to 1,551.21 on Tuesday.
The total stock trading turnover on the bourse rose to 80.3 million dinars ($681,809/648,262 euro) from 21.5 million dinars on Tuesday. A total of 283 transactions were carried out on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Wednesday, compared to 427 on Tuesday. Trading in shares on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) segment contributed 12.9 million dinars to the share turnover on the Belgrade stock market on Wednesday.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 77.4 million dinars to Wednesday's total trading turnover of 157.7 million dinars on the bourse. A total of 6,772 bonds of the dinar-denominated RSO15105 issue changed hands in two transactions on Wednesday. The bonds bear a coupon of 10% and mature on March 2, 2018.
