February 24 (SeeNews) - Industrial gases producer Messer Tehnogas [BEL:TGAS] led the blue-chip gainers' list on the Belgrade bourse on Friday, as share indices declined, stock exchange data showed.
Messer Tehnogas won 2.37% on Friday and closed at 13,371 dinars. The trade in Messer Tehnogas shares generated a turnover of 1.3 million dinars, the fourth largest on the stock market, as 100 shares changed hands in three transactions.
Civil engineering group Energoprojekt [BEL:ENHL] generated a share turnover of 2.6 million euro, the highest one on the bourse on Friday, as 2,001 of its shares changed hands in ten transactions. Energoprojekt paced the blue-chip decliners, as its share price declined by 3.27% to 1,300 dinars.
Oil and gas company NIS [BEL:NIIS] was the most traded company on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday. A total of 2,856 of its shares changed hands in 188 deals, generating a turnover of 2.1 million dinars. NIS won 0.27% and closed at 751 dinars.
The blue-chip BELEX15 index, which tracks the most liquid shares on the Belgrade bourse, lost 0.19% to 715.80 points. On Thursday, the index won 0.40% to 717.13.
The broader BELEXline, a free‐float market capitalisation weighted index, declined 0.21% and closed Friday's session at 1,563.89 after rising 0.41% to 1,567.18 on Thursday.
The total stock trading turnover on the bourse fell to 30.7 million dinars ($262,033/247,724 euro) from 35.5 million dinars on Thursday. A total of 303 transactions were carried out on the Belgrade Stock Exchange on Friday, compared to 279 on Thursday. Trading in shares on the multilateral trading facility (MTP) segment contributed 20.7 million dinars to the share turnover on the Belgrade stock market on Friday.
Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 512.6 million dinars to Friday's total trading turnover of 543.2 million dinars on the bourse. A total of 50,000 bonds of the dinar-denominated RSO16134 issue changed hands in a single transaction on Friday. The bonds bear a coupon of 6% and mature on February 22, 2019.
In the period between February 20 and February 24, BELEX15 and BELEXline rose by 0.83% and 1.07%, respectively. BELEX15 closed all sessions between Monday and Thursday in the black. BELEXLine, in turn, lost ground on Tuesday and Friday and closed up in the other three sessions.
Shares in cookware maker Metalac [BEL:MTLC] advanced the most among the blue chips between February 20 and February 24. The stock added 3.82% in the period and closed at 1,768 dinars on Friday. A total of 622 shares in Metalac changed hands this week.
Lender Komercijalna banka [BEL:KMBN] fell the most this week, down 1.30% to 1,749 dinars.
NIS generated the highest share turnover on the Belgrade stock market in the period between February 20 and February 24 and was the most traded company. A total of 27,440 of its shares changed hands in 699 transactions, generating a turnover of 20.6 million dinars.
The total value of trading in shares on the Belgrade stock market this week was 179.2 million dinars, versus 189.4 million dinars in the previous week. Trading in Treasury bonds contributed 590 million dinars to the week's total trading turnover of 779.4 million dinars on the bourse.
Three transactions of Treasury bonds were carried out this week. In addition to the Treasury bonds that changed hands on Friday, a total of 6,772 bonds of the dinar-denominated RSO15105 issue changed hands in two transactions on Wednesday. The RSO15105 bonds bear a coupon of 10% and mature on March 2, 2018. Last week, the trading in Treasury bonds amounted to 610.1 million dinars out of a total trading turnover of 789.3 million dinars.
