March 27 (SeeNews) - Romanian building materials producer AdePlast said it has agreed with Germany's Meffert to run its Romanian and Bulgarian operations under the Duefa brand.
AdePlast is taking over Duefa's sales, distribution and customer departments in Romania, while paint production will be initially transferred to its unit in Oradea and then to the Ploiesti factory after it is put into operation, probably in June, AdePlast said in a statement on Tuesday.
This was made possible by the investments made in the paint and plaster factories in Oradea and Ploiesti, the statement added.
Last year, AdePlast told SeeNews it was investing in three production units in Ploiesti, including a paint factory worth 6.0 million euro ($7.8 million).
"We chose AdePlast to represent the Dufa brand in Romania, because its significant investments, made in the last years, are backed up by a effective development strategy, which applies a German organisation model," Meffert CEO Dieter Meffert said.
Last year, AdePlast's sales of paints and plasters amounted to 1.7 million euro, while Duefa's sales in Romania totalled 1.9 million euro. In 2013, AdePlast expects its turnover to exceed the combined sales value reported for 2012 for the two companies.
AdePlast also added in the statement that it has completed an 11 million euro investment in a dry mortar factory, which is now fully operational. The factory is located in the northeaster city of Roman.
