November 13 (SeeNews) - Lithuanian retailer Maxima Grupe, which is active in Bulgaria through its T-Market brand, said on Tuesday that it plans to invest at least 100 million euro ($112.4 million) in opening 120-140 new stores in 2019 in the markets on which it operates.
The expansion will be mainly focused on Poland but new stores will also be opened in Bulgaria and the Baltics, Maxima Grupe said in a statement.
By the end of this year, the company plans to open about 50 new stores in all of its markets.
At the end of October, the group owned 1,059 stores, 507 of which in Poland.
In Bulgaria, Maxima Grupe has 72 stores under the T Market brand in 36 cities across the country, according to data from its Bulgarian unit - Maxima Bulgaria. The Bulgarian unit employs over 1,500 people.
