September 27 (SeeNews) - Serbia expects to see its credit rating and outlook upgraded by a large multinational ratings agency on Friday, president Aleksandar Vucic has said.
"We expect that one of the biggest world credit agencies will tomorrow not only increase the outlook but also the credit rating of our country," Vucic said in an address at the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on Thursday.
Fitch plans to issue a second review on Serbia's sovereign credit rating on Friday, according to the sovereign rating review calendar of the ratings agency posted on its website.
"According to the IMF, the GDP of Serbia will cumulatively grow by 12.5% in the coming three years. This result will not be reached by any other country in the region," Vucic said in a video file posted on the UN Web TV website.
Fitch affirmed in May the country's long-term foreign- and local-currency issuer default ratings (IDRs) at BB, with a stable outlook. In April, finance minister Sinisa Mali said Serbia aims to achieve an investment-grade credit rating in the next two years.
