February 2 (SeeNews) - MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia, the Bosnian subsidiary of German car parts manufacturer MAHLE, expects to complete the construction of a 20 million euro ($22 million) factory in Laktasi in November, the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Serb Republic said on Thursday.
The facility will be located in Laktasi's business zone Aleksandrovac 2 and will employ about 900 staff, the Serb Republic's government said in a press release.
MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia signed a contract with local company Baupartner for the construction of the factory in November. The factory will spread on a total area of 65,000 sq m, including 30,000 sq m of closed space, Baupartner said at the time.
MAHLE Electric Drives Bosnia already operates a car parts factory in Laktasi, employing 424 people, according to MAHLE's website.
The Serb Republic is one of the two autonomous entities making Bosnia. The other one is the Federation.
