March 13 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists in Macedonia rose by an annual 13.3% to 43,220 in January, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
Domestic tourists increased by 10.3% to 18 189, whereas international visitors increased 15.5% to 25,031, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in Macedonia in January rose 8.1% year-on-year, reaching 87,894.
Of the total number of foreign tourists in January, 15% came from Greece. Bulgaria followed with 13.5%, and Albania came in third with 10.9%.
In 2016, the number of tourists in Macedonia rose by 5% to 856,843.
