December 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia increased by an annual 16.3% to 896,373 in the first ten months of 2017, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 6.0% year-on-year to 331,591 in January-October, whereas the number of international visitors increased 23.4% to 564,782, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in Macedonia in the review period increased 12.0% year-on-year, reaching 2.5 million.
In October alone, the total number of tourists staying in Macedonia rose 12.1% year-on-year to 77,779, with 55,244 of them coming from abroad.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists, who visited Macedonia in October, 19.6% came from Turkey.
