March 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia increased by an annual 14.2% to 49,347 in January, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
The number of domestic tourists rose 5% year-on-year to 19,094 in January, whereas the number of international visitors increased 20.9% to 30,253, the statistical office said in a statement.
The number of overnights spent by tourists in Macedonia in the review period increased 22.1% year-on-year, reaching 107,324.
Out of the total number of foreign tourists who visited Macedonia in January, 12.6% came from Albania, 12.1% from Greece and 11.8% from Bulgaria.
