October 1 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's September consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.9% month-on-month, after rising by a monthly 0.6% in August, the State Statistical Office said on Monday.
Year-on-year, Macedonia's CPI rose by 3.6% in September, after a 2.2% yearly increase in the previous month, the office said in a statement.
In September 2006, Macedonia's CPI fell by 0.2% month-on-month and was 3.1% higher on the year.

NOTES: The value of the consumer basket of food and beverages for a household of four cost 10,636 denars ($245.1/172.3 euro) based on retail prices in September, compared to 10,432 denars in August. The average monthly net salary in Macedonia was 14,300 denars in July, the latest month for which figures are available.
Macedonia's inflation for 2006 was 2.5%. The government has projected consumer price inflation of 3.0% in its 2007 budget.
