SKOPJE (Macedonia), January 23 (SeeNews) – The business confidence indicator in Macedonia's retail sector edged up by 0.3 percentage points (p.p.) in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared with the previous quarter, the country's statistical office, Makstat, said.
The fourth quarter reading of the index was 0.7 p.p. higher compared to the value recorded in the same period of 2017, Makstat said in a quarterly survey on Tuesday, conducted among local managers.
“The economic situation is more favourable in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the third quarter of 2018, as well as compared to the same quarter of 2017. It is expected to be more favourable for the next two quarters. The quantity of the current stocks have decreased compared to the previous quarter,” the statistical office said.
The selling prices in the fourth quarter of 2018 have decreased compared to the previous quarter, and they are expected to decrease in the next three months, survey data showed.
