December 21 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in October dropped by 0.4% on the year to 42,194, after rising by an annual 3.3% in September, data of the country's Statistics Office showed.
In October, tourist overnights decreased by an annual 5.5% to 96,060 with foreign nationals accounting for 49,256 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
A total of 522,265 tourists visited Macedonia in the first ten months of 2010, down 1.9% on the year. Overnights decreased 4.8% to 1,890,086 through October.
