SKOPJE (Macedonia), April 23 (SeeNews) – The Macedonian Air Navigation Service Provider, M-NAV, plans to call new tenders for the upgrade of its air navigation system in the second and the third quarter of the year, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which will finance the project, said.
The project will include the procurement, installation and commissioning of New Air Traffic Management (ATM) System, the upgrade on several communication facilities, new Voice Communication System and new Digital system for recording voice channels (Voice Logging System), the EBRD said in a statement on Wednesday.
It will also require the procurement, installation and commissioning of a new Mode – S Secondary Surveillance Radar and strengthening of the meteorological equipment, including procurement of Meteo equipment for Macedonian airports in Skopje and Ohrid.
Tendering for the first contracts of the project began in the second quarter of 2014 and it is expected to continue in the second and third quarter 2015, said the EBRD.
The proposed project has a total estimated cost of approximately 13 million euro ($14 million).
