June 13 (SeeNews) - Macedonian lead and zinc mine Sasa will open over 700 new jobs, the country's government said.
Currently, the mine is building a new dump site, a project worth at least 6 million euro ($6.8 million), the mine's director for development and investments Maksim Prohorov said, as quoted in a government press release on Friday.
The dump site will allow the mine to function another 15 years, he said.
In November Orion Mine Finance Group purchased the Sasa mine from Solway Investment Group for an undisclosed sum. Orion Mine Finance Group is a mining-focused investment business based in New York with additional offices in Bermuda, Denver, Sydney and London.
