April 26 (SeeNews) - Macedonia’s Komercijalna Banka [MSE:KMB] said on Thursday that its non-consolidated net profit rose sharply to 966.6 million denars ($19.2 million/15.7 million euro) in the first quarter of the year from 39.0 million denars in the like period of 2017.
The lender's net interest income fell to 667.1 million denars in the January-March period, compared to 728.4 million denars in the corresponding period of last year, Komercijalna Banka said in a statement.
Net fee and commission income edged up to 200.4 million denars in the review period from 199.8 million denars a year earlier.
Other operating income soared to 517.3 million denars from 102.0 million denars.
The lender reversed 271.7 million denars of financial asset impairments in the first quarter of this year, while in the same period of 2017, the lender booked financial asset impairments of 606.6 million denars.
In February, Komercijalna Banka said it has signed a contract for the sale of a 1.5 billion denars debt owed to the lender by ferronickel producer Feni Industries.
