August 23 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in June rose by 7.2% on the year to 55,323 after increasing by an annual 1.6% a month earlier, the Statistics Office said.
Tourist overnights rose by 11.8% on the year to 143,085 in June, with foreign nationals accounting for 77,758 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
A total of 235,781 tourists visited Macedonia in the first half of 2011, up by 6.6% on the year. Overnights increased by an annual 5.1% to 549,991 over the same period.
