March 7 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's consumer prices ticked up 0.2% year-on-year in February, slowing down from a growth of 0.6% in the previous month, the state statistical office said on Tuesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages which have the largest weight of 39% in the consumer basket, dropped 2.3% on the year in February, after declining 1% in the previous month.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second largest weight of 13.6% edged down 0.3% year-on-year in February following a slight decrease of 0.2% in the first month of the year.
Prices in the transport segment, which have 8% weight in the consumer basket, rose 5.3% on the year, after growing 6.3% in January.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices dropped 0.5%, after edging up 0.6% a month ago.
