January 13 (SeeNews) - The blue-chip index of the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) rose this week, bourse data indicated on Friday.
The MSE's benchmark MBI-10 index closed at 2,202.66 points on Friday, 2.8% higher than its value a week earlier.
The index rose 0.4% in three trading sessions last week. The Macedonian bourse was closed on January 2 and January 6 for New Year holiday and Eastern Orthodox Christmas Eve, respectively.
Official market trading turnover jumped to 49 million denars ($848,000/796,500 euro) in five sessions this week, from 579,374 denars last week.
Komercijalna banka Skopje [MSE:KMB] generated the largest trading turnover among the blue chips, of 4.76 million denars, as a total of 1,617 shares of the lender changed hands this week.
The MSE bond index, the OMB, closed at 128.2 points on Friday, up from 127.83 points on January 5.
