December 7 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's consumer prices rose 2.2% year-on-year in November, after increasing by an annual 1.9% in the previous month, the state statistical office said on Thursday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 39% in the consumer basket, grew 1.6% on the year, accelerating from a 1.0% increase in October, the statistical office said in a statement.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13.6%, edged up 0.2% year-on-year in November, after staying flat in October.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8% weight in the consumer basket, added 7.9% on the year, following a 7.5% rise in the previous month.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2% in November, after rising 0.3% in October.
