SKOPJE (Macedonia), August 7 (SeeNews) – Macedonia's consumer prices rose 1.7% year-on-year in July, after increasing by an annual 1.4% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 39% in the consumer basket, grew 0.2% on the year in July, following a rise of 0.4% in June, the statistical office said in a statement.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13.6%, edged up 0.1% year-on-year in July after edging down 0.1% in June.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8% weight in the consumer basket, added 11.9% on the year in July, following a rise of 9.1% in the previous month.
On a monthly comparison basis, Macedonia's consumer prices edged down 0.3% in July, after recording no increase in June.
