February 12 (SeeNews) - The number of tourists staying in Macedonia in 2012 rose by 2.5% to over 663,600 following a 10.5% increase a year earlier, the country's statistics office said on Tuesday.
Tourist overnights decreased by an annual 1.0% to some 2.15 million last year, with foreign nationals accounting for nearly 812,000 of the total, the statistics office said in a statement.
In December alone, a total of 31,396 tourists visited Macedonia, down by 4.5% on the year, while overnights edged up by an annual 0.5% to 63,260.
