March 10 (SeeNews) - Macedonian railway operator Makedonski Zeleznici Transport will announce in the second half of 2016 a tender for the acquisition of three new electric locomotives as part of a project worth an estimated of 59 million euro ($65.4 milion) for renewal of its fleet, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said.
The railway operator will use an EBRD loan to finance the project, the bank said in a general procurement notice published on its website.
The project envisages acquisition of new rolling stock, new electric locomotives, as well as the rehabilitation of the maintenance workshops.
