November 2 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's leading drug maker, Alkaloid AD Skopje , said on Monday its preliminary consolidated net profit rose by an annual 13.7% to 401.7 million denars ($9.6 million/6.5 million euro) in the first nine months of 2009.

Alkaloid shares, a component of the MSE's blue-chip index, closed at 5,812 denars on Friday, 3.0% down from a day earlier. The income statement was released before the start of trading hours on Monday.
Alkaloid (www.alkaloid.com.mk) is based in the capital Skopje. It has representative offices in over 10 countries and distributes its products on some 30 markets.
