June 7 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's consumer prices added 1.2% year-on-year in May, after posting a 1% increase in the previous month, the state statistical office said on Wednesday.
The prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight of 39% in the consumer basket, ticked up 0.2% on the year, after edging down 0.4% in April.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which have the second-largest weight of 13.6%, dropped 0.4% year-on-year in May, after decreasing by the same pace in April.
Prices in the transport segment, with 8% weight in the consumer basket, added 2.9% on the year, following a 3.1% rise in the previous month.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices remained unchanged.
