SKOPJE (Macedonia), November 6 (SeeNews) – Macedonian company Trudbenik said it will launch construction works on a $33 million (22.3 million euro) five-star hotel near the Ohrid lake as of March, Skopje-based media reported on Friday.
The hotel will be a joint investment of Trudbenik and U.S. businessman of Macedonian origin, Spiro Trajceski, Vecer daily (www.vecer.com.mk) reported.
The hotel will cover over 15,000 square meters and will accommodate 600 guests. It will have luxury suits, congress hall, discotheque and casino, Vecer quoted Spirovski as saying.
Ohrid-based construction firm Trudbenik posted an operating income of 180.6 million denars ($4.3 million/2.9 million) in 2008. Ohrid is a city on the eastern shore of the Ohrid lake.
The Ohrid lakeside, the most popular tourist destination in Macedonia, was visited by 202,104 tourists in 2008, 11.5% up from a year earlier. Of them, 62,461 were foreign guests.
