October 30 (SeeNews) - Granit, a leading Macedonian building contractor, on Tuesday said it had a preliminary net profit of 148.7 million denars ($3.5 million/2.4 million euro) for the first nine months of 2007, more than treble the earnings of 41.1 million denars it posted in the same period of 2006.
Granit's profit rose because construction activities in Macedonia intensified in the third quarter of 2007, Granit said in a statement to the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE) where the company is listed. Granit is also developing variuos projects in the Middle East, Africa and Europe.
