SKOPJE (Macedonia), March 18 (SeeNews) – Turkish company Sutas plans to restart production at formerly bankrupt Macedonian dairy company Swedmilk in May after investing 10 million euro ($13 million), the government in Skopje said.
Balkanska Mlekara, formerly Swedmilk, will initially produce 45 tonnes of milk per day with daily capacity set to increase to 180 tonnes, the Macedonian government said on Friday after local state officials and Sutas representatives visited the plant near Skopje.
Sutas plans to invest 5.0 million euro by the end of the year and to increase the number of workers to 200 from the initial 50, the statement said.
Sutas completed the acquisition of Swedmilk, its first plant outside Turkey, in June 2012.
